Walking Safari in Ghana Go Back
Walking safaris usually take place in Mole National Park and in the early morning (6am) and late afternoon (4pm). These can be of 2 hours to 4 hours in length and are guided by an armed wildlife ranger. It’s quite rare to even be allowed to do a walking safari, because you never know what sneaky, hungry critter is going to pop out of the savannah with the idea of nibbling on your flesh. Mole National Park is the largest national park in Ghana and provides the best wildlife experience in Ghana. Mole National Park has the widest range of wildlife in Ghana and is the only place in Ghana where you can experience elephants in the wild. In addition to the elephants, you will see antelope, bushbucks, monkeys, warthogs, baboons and other smaller wildlife. During your walking safari you will explore more than your jeep safari because you will explore your own path and discover the National Park in a close manner, but be with guide or ranger so, that you will remain safe and do not lost the path on which you are walked in. View the animals from balance distance, do not try to go more closer them it may be dangerous for you because sometimes wild animal may attack if someone trying to disturb their life and trying to come close into their area specially in case of Elephant and Rhino try to watch them from long distance. On your walking safari you will have an opportunity to watch various bird species of there so, be with your binoculars and do not chirping so much because birds don't like it that somebody chirping other than them. Be sunscreen cream, sufficient water and some nutritious food with you which will help you during your walking safari and be always with your guide because they know the path and way of the National Park and will alert you if you are entering into the danger zones of wild animals. If you are pregnant or suffering from any kind of illness then avoid walking safari.
