The Enchanting Island of Nevis - Basseterre
The Enchanting Island of Nevis There's something about this small, sombrero-shaped island that grabs you. The charm and tranquility takes you back to a time when things were simpler, when life was more peaceful, when stress was just a word, not a way of life. This 36-square-mile island lies near the top of the Lesser Antilles archipelago, about 200 miles south of Puerto Rico, and just west of Antigua. This island jewel is approximately 7 miles long and 5 miles wide, with natural vegetation that is unparalleled. Green and serene, Nevis is truly one of the remaining unspoilt places and proudly carries the name, Queen of the Caribees. From the top of the 3,232-foot Nevis Peak to the depths of the clear waters offshore, there is a world of flora ...

The peak seson of tourism in St Kitts/Nevis - Basseterre
The peak seson of tourism in St Kitts/Nevis Given that rates are higher and places more crowded during the peak winter tourist season (mid-December to mid-April), the best time to visit, price- and weather-wise, is November and early December. The summer low-season (June to August) is also fine; but keep in mind that, if you plan to travel to other Caribbean destinations, some of them are appreciably hotter than St Kitts and Nevis during the summer. St Kitts is as hopping as Nevis is sleepy, but relaxation and a rum punch are requisites on both islands. The dual island nation may officially separate soon, but visitors can still enjoy a menu of plantation-cum-boutique hotels, palm tree-lined beaches and adventurous hikes.

Know the History of Nevis in Nevis Museum - Basseterre
Know the History of Nevis in Nevis Museum The Museum of Nevis History occupies a Georgian-style building at the site where American statesman Alexander Hamilton was born in 1757 (the original home was toppled by an earthquake in the mid-1800s). This pleasant little museum has period photos with interpretive captions and other bits and pieces of Nevis culture and history. The Nevis Historical and Conservation Society, custodians of this museum, also run the excellent Horatio Nelson Museum just south of Charles town. It is home to the largest collection of the Admiral's treasures in the Americas and well worth a visit.
