Sao Tome And Principe Travel and Tourism

Sao Tome and Principe Flag

Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe, is a Portuguese-speaking island nation in the Gulf of Guinea, off the western equatorial coast of Africa. It consists of two islands: São Tomé and Príncipe, located about 140 kilometres apart and about 250 and 225 kilometres, respectively, off the northwestern coast of Gabon. Both islands are part of an extinct volcanic mountain range. São Tomé, the sizable southern island, is situated just north of the equator. It was named in honor of Saint Thomas by Portuguese explorers who happened to arrive at the island on his feast day. São Tomé and Príncipe is the second-smallest African country in terms of population . It is the smallest country in the world that is not a former British overseas territory, a former United States trusteeship, or one of the European microstates. It is also the smallest Portuguese-speaking country.

Agua Ize is the most interesting village in Sao Tome - Sao Tome
Agua Ize is the most interesting village in Sao Tome Agua Ize is the most interesting village because it is built from stones not wood like the other villages of the island. South of Sao Joao dos Angolares the nature becomes even more impressive. The most spectacular sight is the rock of Cao Grande which soars 633 meters above the plain. There is no road leading there but there may be some locals to show you the path.

Sao Tome is served by 4 airlines - Sao Tome
Sao Tome is served by 4 airlines Sao Tome is served by 4 airlines. TAP flies from Lisbon twice a week. The Sunday flight also stops in Cape Verde. Angolan Airlines flies once a week with a stop in Cabinda. Four times a week Air Gabon and Air Sao Tome e Principe fly between Sao Tome and Libreville. Also four flights a week are going to Principe. There is a car rental company 200 meters from Mistral voyage towards the airport. The international airport tax is always US$20 or 20 euro plus a 2% service charge. This creates a lot of problems for the poor airport staff who don't know in which currency they must collect the service charge or how to give change. So keep 3700 dobras to pay with which seems to be the only solution.
