It is a beautiful trek passing through an awe-inspiring mountains and vales. You willcome across several lakes filled with trouts. This is a short five days trek which leads from paro to Thimphu or vice versa, crossing the chain of mountains that separates the two valleys.Although the route is sparsely inhabited, there are wonderful lakes teeming with fishand the area is famous for its spectacular rhododendron forests which bloom in May. In the clear weather of late autumn and winter there are great views of the Himalayas
Detail Information
Day 01. Arrival at Paro.

Fly into Himalayas with Druk Air, Bhutans National Air Carrier. The green wall of hills known as dooars, or gateways into Bhutan from the plains climbs continuously higher as the plane flies north towards the Tibet border. Silver rivers thread the valleys, waterfalls plunge down the forested mountainsides and to the north, the greatsnowcapped peaks of the inner Himalayas rise up into the sky. As the aircraft enters the Paro valley, look down and you will see the Paro Dzong overlooking Paro Chu (river) with Ta Dzong, watch tower, now the national museum, above it. Your escort from Adventure Bhutan Travel, who accompany you throughout the trip, will be waiting for you at the airport. After completion of airport formalities, you will drive through fascinating valley of Paro to the hotel. Evening visit to Paro marker and take a stroll around towns Main Street. Dinner and overnight at the hotel in Paro.

Day 02. Paro - Paro.

Full day sightseeing in the Paro Valley. After breakfast drive to the Drugyel Dzong or the Fortress of Victory from where the Bhutanese repelled many Tibetan invasions. The Dzong though in ruins holds great historical importance to the Bhutanese. From there, in fine weather, one can view the majestic Mt. Jhumolhari standing at an altitude of 7329m above the sea. Other places of interest include the National Museum, Paro Rinpong Dzong and the local market. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 03. Paro - Jeledzong.

Distance: 10km. Trek Time: 4-5 hours. Alltitude of camp: 2576m This is a short trekking day and the trail is uphill through conifer forests. The view of the Paro Valley from the camp is absolutely breathtaking.

Day 04. Jeledzong - Jangchulakha.

Distance : 14 km. Trek Time : 5-6 Hours. Altitude of camp : 2879m. Gradual climbs and a few steep climbs take you through thick alpine forests and rhododendron bushes. You will see yaks and yak herders around the camp today.

Day 05. Jangchulakha - Jimilangtsho.

Distance: 13km. Trek Time: 5-6 hours. Altitude of camp: 3000m. The trail follows the ridge and on a clear day one will be surrounded by beautiful mountains and river valleys. The camp site is near the Lake Jimilangtsho known for their giant sized tours.

Day 06. Jimilangtsho - Simkota.

Distance: 14km. Trek Time: 5 - 6 Hours. Altitude of camp: 3485m. The trail takes you through dwarf rhododendron bushes and the lake. You will be able to observe the nomadic life of the yak herders on the way today. The camp is beside the Simkota Lake.

Day 07. Simkota - Phajoding.

Distance : 12km. Trek Time : 4-5 Hours. Altitude of camp : 2600m. The trek beginswith a gradual climb. In clear weather you will be able to see the spectacular view of Mt. Gangkar Phuensum, the highest mountain in the country and her sister mountains. Descend down to the family of Monasteries at phajjoding which serves as the View point of the Thimphu valley.

Day 08. Phajoding - Thimphu.

Meeting with the transportation bus which will take you to your hotel. The trek will take only about two hours and you should be able to get to your hotel before lunch. Rest of the evening at leisure. Overnight in Hotel.

Day 09. Thimphu

Full day Thimphu sightseeing including the National library, Painting School, National memorial chorten. Lunch in a local restaurant. Visit a few handicraft shops. Overnight in hotel.

Day 10. Thimphu - Paro.

Drive to Paro. Evening at leisure. Overnight in hotel.

Day 11. Departure.

Depart.
