DAY 1 LIMA PICK UP

Upon arrival reception and transfer to the select hotel - overnight (no meals)

Day 2 LIMA / PUERTO MALDONADO - 3/2

Flight to Puerto Maldonado, and journey to the lodge. Following your early morning flight to Puerto Maldonado from Lima, you will be met at the airport by your naturalist guide and transferred to a dugout canoe for the trip up the Tambopata River to the lodge. On the journey the vegetation changes from colonized deforested areas to virgin rain forest. A box-lunch is provided on board. On arrival you'll have a welcome drink and meet the rest of the staff. In the late afternoon you set off for an introductory walk into the terra firme forest behind the lodge (Trail 2), dominated by giant Brazil-nut and Dipteryx trees. Frequently seen mammals on this trail are Saddle-back Tamarinds, Brown Capuchins, Agoutis, Pacas, Blue-Morpho butterflies, Trogons, Toucans and many other species of birds. After dinner a night walk to find nocturnal animals or insects by the eye-shine a specialization for increasing the light and see better, about 50% of the animals are nocturnal in the rainforest. Day 3 HIKE TO LAKE CONDENADO

After an early breakfast you and your nature guide will board the motorized canoe once again for the short journey to the trail head to begin a morning's exploration by foot and paddle canoe of the lake system of Condenado, rich in bird and aquatic life. A family of Giant Otters live in the vicinity of the lake and are often observed. Birds abound especially Rufescent Tiger-herons, Great Egrets, Wattled Jacanas, Hoatzin, the noisy Donacobius and many others. Remember to bring your hat and sun cream for there is no shade out on the water. You will return to the lodge in time for lunch. The afternoon is for exploring the forest close to the lodge (with or without your guide), relaxing and bathing in the Gallucunca, a cool clear stream beside the lodge or visit our tree platforms, going up with ropes and harnesses for a bird's eye view of the forest and for close-ups of arboreal orchids and the many other species of plants and animals that are never seen near the ground (extra cost). After dark you will go searching for caiman (alligators) and other nocturnal animals by motorized canoe along the Tambopata River. (B, L, D)

Day 4 PUERTO MALDONADO – CUSCO

Departure. A dawn start is required for the canoe trip back to Puerto Maldonado giving memorable views of the sun rise over the river. Lookout for the early morning wildlife which is particularly active at this time. Howler monkeys are frequently heard, as they stakeout their territories. Your guide will take care of you on arrival in Puerto Maldonado and will deal with all the necessities at the airport prior to you departure. (B)

Day 5 CITY TOUR PM

Morning at leisure, afternoon 2;00pm you will be taken on a city tour and visit a local archeological sites, the Cathedral, Koricancha, Sacsayhuaman and surroundings returning later afternoon 5:30pm to your hotel around and enjoy the hospitality of the local people (B)

Day 6 INCA TRAIL TO MACHU PICCHU 4/3 to Km. 82

At six in the morning, we pick up our passengers at their hotels and travel by bus to the Km 82, the start of the Inca Trail. We start our trek escorted by native Quechua'' porters hike to Llulluchapampa. The first day the trail leads along the Urubamba River, offering you spectacular views of snow-capped mountains and intense flora. camp at Huayllabamba (breakfast at Hotel, lunch and dinner on hike)

Day 7 PACAMAYO

We will begin to climb the first pass, Warmiwausca (4,200 m. alt.), This second day is more challenging as you climb a 4.200-meter high pass, often covered in mist where there is a spectacular view of the valley below. This night, we will camp along the river Pacamayo at the bottom of the pass.(breakfast,Lunch,Dinner)

Day 8 WIAYHUAYNA

After breakfast, we will hike towards Runku Rakay and traverse the second pass of the same name (3,800 masl). A stone path guides you through a dense cloud forest to Wia Wayna, passing many Inca ruins on the way final night near the ruins of Wiayhuayna, (breakfast,Lunch,dinner)

Day 9 MACHU PICCHU We will rise very early so that we may watch the sunrise from Inti Punku Sun Gate the fog lifts and you are looking down onto Machu Picchu just as the Incas did centuries before you. The sight is awe inspiring - a sprawling temple bathed in sunlight. Guided tour follow by some time at leisure, overnight at the President hotel or similar - overnight

Day 10 MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

Morning at leisure to explore by your own (entrance and bus fee not included on the rate) in the afternoon we will take the train back in Cusco where we will arrive around 8:30pm (breakfast) As an option, you may stay overnight in Machu Picchu - easy to arrange upon request

Day 11 CUSCO / PUNO

7:00am pick up from your hotel and transfer to the bus station to depart to Puno 8 hours journey, on the way you will visit some archeological sites, arrival reception and transfer to select Hotel - overnight (B+L)

Day 12 UROS AND TAQUILE

We will pick you up from your hostel at 07.15 a.m. and we will go to our boat. Today we will visit the floating islands of Uros, located inside the bay of Lake Titikaka only nine miles away from the city (20 to 30 minutes of navigation). It is believed that the Uros were one of the first ethnic groups populating the Andean region. When the Spanish chroniclers encountered the Uros by the end of the XVI century, the Uros were still living on the lake in small reed-boats that they used as floating houses. Only in the early 60's, the Uros started to build small artificial islands with reeds for their homes. Then we will discover Taquile, the biggest island of the lake. Taquile has approximately 1,200 inhabitants. The people from this island have a Quechua origin and they are mostly small farmers. We will arrive in the northern dock of the island and we will start 1 hour hike as far as the main village of Taquile, where we will visit the plaza and the market. After lunch we will return to Puno from the main dock. We will arrive in Puno at 17:30 p.m.

Note: Take note that there are 533 steps to get on top of the Island

Day 13 PUNO / LIMA

After Breakfast You will be picked up from your hotel to take you the airport (airfare included)on the way you will visit to the archaeological center of Sillustani. We will observe impressive funeral tombs belonging to the Kolla culture (1200-1450). Their noble class (Caciques, priests) was buried in funeral towers called chullpas. Their corpses were previously mummified and placed in fetus position together with some of their belongings, such as gold and silver objects, jewelry, ceramics, and food. Upon arrival transfer to the Hotel .Overnight (b)

Day 14 TRANSFER OUT

Pick up from your hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight back in Lima (airfare included) - end of our services
