Detail Information
Day 1-5

Meet & greet Port Elizabeth Airport, depart for Eastern Cape via Grahamstown, Alice, Fort Beaufort, Rural Eastern Cape to the Cata Valley. Introduction and welcome ceremony by local tribe and your new foster family. Receive Traditional Garments to wear for your stay Accommodation in by local family in traditional Xhosa round mud hut with traditional bedding of karos and skins and wood pillow. A local black family will take care of you and teach you the Xhosa way of life in the Cata Valley, the art or surviving day to day, food gathering and perpetration, beer making, mielie meel stamping for bread making etc and and be included in any celebration or festivals. You will become a Xhosa, live with them, among them, think like them and experience the rich bounty of absolute peace and tranquility of the people and the Cata Valley

Day 6

Transfer to King Williams Town, visit Garden of Remembrance at Steve Biko Grave, then via Thyumhe Valley, vist Lovedale College - a mission station and educational institute in Eastern Cape The station was founded in 1824 by the Glasgow Missionary Society and was named after Dr John Love, visit the University of Fort Hare to interact with the students and visit the Radio Station. Originally, Fort Hare was a British fort in the wars between British and the Xhosa of the 19th century. The Hall of Fame includes Nelson Mandela, the late Presidents Seretse Khama of Botswana, Yusuf Lule of Uganda and Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, Prime Minister Ntsu Mokhehle of Lesotho and Prime Ministers Fwanyanga Mulikita and Elijah Mudenda of Zambia. ANC alumni include Oliver Tambo, Govan Mbeki, Chris Hani and many others. PAC founder Robert Sobukwe and Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) leader Mangosuthu Buthelezi graduated in the 1950s.

Day 7

Breakfast depart for Alice, walk around the famous Healdtown School, after receiving a primary education at a local mission school, Nelson Mandela was sent to Healdtown a Wesleyan secondary school of some repute where he matriculated. He then enrolled at the University College of Fort Hare for the Bachelor of Art Degree where he was elected onto the student's Representative council.
