We travel via the N2 on to the Big 5 Lodges: Shamwari Game Reserve; The Addo National Elephant Park; Scotia Lion Safaris. Our first stop is the fabulous Shamwari Game Reserve. Here we enjoy a smashing traditional African Lunch overlooking the beautiful valley. Then we enjoy an exciting visit to Kaya Lendaba an African Village, where we are met by Zulu & Xhosa tribesmen & women for an hour of traditional stories, dancing, culture, food, traditions and more.

Finally we do a game drive looking for Lion; Giraffe, Buffalo, Rhino, Antelope, Elephant, Cheetah and Warthog.

We enjoy a wonderful Supper at our Lodge situated in the Zuurberg Mountains.

Day 2 After breakfast it's off to Addo National Elephant Park.

The park offers 326 Elephant, 8 Lion, 38 Rhino, and 135 Cape buffalo, Zebra, Ostrich, Eland, Kudu, Redhartebeest, Warthog and a multitude of bird species. Here we will take you to within meters of these gentle giants. Lunch can be had in the Park Restaurant. At the moment there are about 20 babies as well.

With our experienced tracker/guide we soon round up the great herds of Elephant and their newly born, only meters away from our vehicle. Ostrich, Eland, Kudu, Redhartebeest and Warthog are plentiful. We enjoy a light lunch at Addo Restcamp Restaurant and browse through the magnificent Curio Shop.

After lunch we leave for our final destination, Schotia Game Reserve. We leave the safety of our bus and board 4 x4 Landrovers. We see the crocodiles in the dam and check into the Lapa (open-air venue built with wood & poles & thatch) and enjoy a cold drink or coffee before we set out on the open plains. Scotia is well known for its Lions and after the night's activities we will sleep with them in their world. We stay out on the range from 3pm to 6pm, and then by powerful spotlight we search for game until we finally find the majestic Lions of the Eastern Cape.

These lions are free ranging and although we cannot guarantee a kill it we have witnessed it several times.

The lions also have just had cubs and we might get to see them as well. A memorable Potjiekos prepared on open fire is served upon our return in the open air Lapa. Sipping on a good red wine, a good BBQ and the sounds of the African Bush just outside our perimeter is a setting that will burn an image into everyone heart forever.
