==== DENMAN ISLANDS – ATTRACTION

Many of the local artisans open their studios for drop in visitors or during studio tours, like the Denman Island Pottery Tour. Others show their work in local galleries. Musically speaking, concerts go on all year and climax with the nine-day Hornby Festival n August. Along with an eye and an ear for art, dont forget to bring your appetite: chocolate, meed, wine and produce is all grown and sold here and locally baked goodies are always a treat.

The side-by-side rural islands are just a short, BC Ferry jump from Vancouver Island. Access to the islands is by regular BC Ferries service at Buckley Bay, about an hour north of Nanaimo. A 10-minute ferry services Denman Island. To reach Hornby, drive 10-minutes through orchards and forest across Denman and catch another 10-minute ferry.
