Exploring the fascinating tour

Travel on an amazing 4-day, 3-night journey from Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta and Chau Doc Town, exploring the fascinating Delta region. And now it is possible to take a boat from here up the mighty Mekong River all the way to Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia where tour ends. Tourists departure is from Ho Chi Minh City, with the first stop at Cai Be, where visitors board a boat to explore the floating market -typical of the Mekong Delta. Then tourists continue by boat to Binh Hoa Phuoc Island, visiting tropical fruit orchards and having lunch in a famed bonsai garden. After lunch, continue by boat to Vinh Long and then by road to Can Tho -the main hub of the Mekong Delta. Check into the luxurious 4-star Victoria Hotel on arrival in Can Tho and then mid-afternoon, head for Thot Not, 45km north, where tourists visit the bamboo basket-making Long Thanh Hamlet. Visitors then head for Thot Not Stork Sanctuary to watch thousands of egrets, herons and cormorants arrive to roost in the branches from a viewing tower above the tree tops. Return to Can Tho in the late afternoon, with an overnight stay in the riverside Victoria Can Tho Hotel.

On the second day, head north-west to Chau Doc Town, situated on the Cambodian Border, where visitors transfer the to the 4-star, riverside Victoria Chau Doc Hotel. In the afternoon, take a boat along the river to visit the Mekong’s unique fish farms, where fish are bred in wooden cages suspended under floating houses on the river. Continue by belonging to the Cham ethnic minority boat to visit a village of stilt houses, group, where colourful traditional textiles are woven on old wooden looms.

Tourists return to dry land in time to drive up Sam Mountain, to watch the sunset over the Cambodian Border; then overnight in Victoria Chau Doc Hotel. Day three is when tourists depart Vietnam, with a Victoria Resort luxury speedboat taking tourists all the way up river to Phnom Penh. Visa formalities take about 45 minutes at the border. When visitors arrive at Phnom Penh, visitors are transferred by land to hotel in the city. The fourth and final day allows free time in the capital, before departure or onward airport transfer.
The tour costs $375 per person (group of two); this includes three nights in superior class hotels (twin share/ double) with daily breakfast; English or French-speaking guide from HCMC to Chau Doc; land transport in a private, aircon vehicle; some meals; boat trip in Vinh Long, Chau Doc and Chau Doc to Phnom Penh and all entrance fees as mentioned in the itinerary.
