Fort Smith, North West Territories

Fort Smith is a town in the South Slave Region of the Northwest Territories, Canada. It is located in the southeastern portion of the Northwest Territories, on the Slave River. Fort Smith is the home of the Northern Life Museum and home of the museum ship Radium King.


One finds the headquarters of Wood Buffalo National Park, Canada’s largest and oldest National Park.

The Mary Kaeser Public Library right next to the town hall on Fort Smith’s main drag, McDougal Street. It is open afternoons and evenings.

The Fort Smith Recreation Centre which is easy to find because it is also the tourism information centre. It is open 7 days a week and evenings.

Aurora College’s library. 8:30 am to 9 pm every day except Sundays from Noon to 9pm.

Uncle Gabe’s Friendship Centre also had free internet access available, but is a little more difficult to find,ask anyone how to get there. This site is open most weekday evenings.
