Gdansk is an amazingly beautiful city in spite of it’s turbulent history. It at the center of the fourth-largest metropolitan area in Poland.It is Poland’s principal seaport as well as the capital of the Pomeranian Voivodeship. It is also historically the largest city of the Kashubian region. There are not many places in the world where the history of our time seems more immediate. German Danzig was a major port during the late middle ages and renaissance periods.


The city has many fine buildings from the time of the Hanseatic League. Uphagen House, Main Town Hall, Neptune Fountain, Golden House, St. Bridget Church, St. Catherine Church are the main attraction.

Solidarity (Solidarnosc) museum at the former Lenin shipyards – The museum has a fantastic interactive exhibit and is an important reminder of how the oppressed will never be defeated.
