I-lan, is an agricultural town famous for its veggies. Once here tourists can feast their eyes on all round greenery with squirrels and birds and fish. From a distance the isolated buildings of I-lan appear floating on the water in some eerie way. The quietness of the place adds to its uniqueness.

==== I-LAN – ATTRACTION

Jiaoshi Hot Spring – This is located at an elevation of about 300 meters. The Valley of Langyang River in this place is amazingly beautiful. Chilan can be reached by bus. Tourists can even lodge in Chilan Mountain Hostel. The hostel has multiple housing options at different prices.

Suao Cold Spring Carnival – The Suao Cold Spring Park is open from 8 am. to 10 pm. The cold spring is unique to Asia. The temperature in the springs is below 22 degrees Celsius with heavy carbon dioxide. Bathing in cold spring is good for both summer and winter. It is one of the most popular, inexpensive leisure’s one can indulge in Taiwan. The I-lan government holds the Suao Cold Spring Carnival in the summer to attract more people to I-lan. It is a two-week long festival which includes a theme with cold spring. The locals hold entertaining activities.

Black Shop – This is an ice shop open between the months of April to October. The ice cream sold here is different from the regular dairy products of the region.

Witch’s Food – There are not many fancy restaurants in I-lan. Most of the restaurants here are home-style eateries. Witch’s Food is one of the very few restaurants in town and has won the hearts of all and sundry. It specializes in beef dishes. Pickled cabbage and beef steam dumpling with soup is one of the sumptuous dishes offered here.
