Fremont St, Las Vegas’ indoor party street, is a dab hand at putting on a good shindig and its annual Jazz Festival is no exception. With over 25 bands and 220 performances, the three-day festival promises to big, loud and diverse.
Showcasing music from the first 50 years of jazz history (1895-1945), the range includes blues, gospel, Latin jazz, swing, western swing, barbershop and zydeco. The bands have a suitably eclectic collection of names to match, from the Yankee Wailers to the Boondockers and Dog With A Bone. The performances take place at various venues within the vast space that is Fremont St.
Ranging across five city blocks, the Fremont St Experience is a one-stop entertainment mall housing spectacular light shows, shopping, eating, gambling and live entertainment. The epitome of Las Vegas, it is great fun, fantastically glitzy and very, very tacky.
