Mad Max comes to Cambridgeshire

Huntingdon, UK – 13 May 2006 to 14 May 2006

On the second weekend in May, outlandish and futuristic motorbikes and trikes and their riders will once again invade the sleepy village of Great Stukeley near Huntingdon in East Anglia for the 9th Annual Rat & Survival Bike & Trike Show.
The Rat & Survival weekend allows the opportunity for some of the wildest, most unusual two- and three-wheeled creations on the road to be shown off to the world, and visitors are expected from all over the UK as well as places as far away as Germany and The Netherlands.

But these bikes are not the latest sports machines hot off the production lines. Rather, they are ordinary, everyday machines that have been customised by their owners to such a scale that, in some cases, it is difficult to recognise them as road vehicles at all. Some follow the ”Survival” style made popular by movies such as Mad Max or Escape from LA, while other are typical ”Rust Rats” that have not been cleaned or otherwise looked after in what seems like decades (yet are usually in perfect technical condition as far as performance and safety are concerned).
