Nehru Zoological Park

Nehru Zoological Park is credited with being the largest zoo in India. It is located at a distance of 16 km from Hyderabad and comes under the Bahadupur region.Royal Bengal Tiger and White Tiger are the main attraction of tourists here. The best place to explore the rich flora and fauna in its natural habitat. Sprawled over an area of approximately 300 acres, the zoo has a wide array of animals, birds and reptiles.Indian Rhino, Asiatic Lions, Black Panther, Giraffes and Black Bears are some amongst the animals’ treasure of the zoo. The zoo’s undulating landscape provides a natural setting to the animals and birds, which are displayed in large enclosures simulating natural habitats.

The nocturnal house at the zoo artificially reverses night and day for the animals so that nocturnal animals are active while visitors are at the zoo. This exhibit includes fruit bats, slender loris, slow loris, civets, leopard cats, hedgehogs, barn owls, mottled wood owls, fishing owls, and great horned owls.

In case you are hunting for adventure and buzz, then you can take jeep safari of the Lion Park, a place with exclusive charm throughout the continent. The zoo runs several safari trips each day, such as the Lion Safari, Tiger Safari, Bear Safari, and Butterfly Safari.Other attractions include elephant rides, a natural history museum, and a children’s train.

The Nehru Zoological Park is run by the Forest department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, and named after the first prime minister of the country, Jawaharlal Nehru.
