Nyanga City

Located 263km from Harare, Nyanga is Zimbabwes premier mountain park and resort. This is where the countrys highest mountain Inyangani is found standing at 2593m.Activities here include trout fishing, horse riding, golfing and mountain hiking. There is limited game viewing in Nyanga but dip in one of the steams under the Mtarazi Waterfalls is quite refreshing.

How to get there
By Rail
Daily services between Harare and Mutare.

By Coach
Daily services from Harare to Mutare. There are local bus services from Mutare to throughout the Eastern highlands.

By Car
There are first class tarmac roads to Nyanga, the Bvumba and Chimanimani. If you do not have a car there are various tours to Nyanga and the Bvumba.

Best time to visit
Between November and March, during the rainy season, can be pleasant. Winter months from May to September have the least rain and, although cool, it is sunny and ideal for hiking and horse riding.

* Visit Bvumba Mountains
* Visit Botanical Gardens
* Visit Castle Beacon (approached through the Bvumba Heights gateway) and Chinyakawaremba (at a lay-by) are both 15-minute climbs offering spectacular views
* Visit Chirinda Forest, Bridal Veil Falls, Bvumba
