Approximately 40Km North of Phnom Penh, and located on a hill overlooking vast plains, this site is famous for its stupas and if you have the energy you can walk the 509 steps to the top of the hill from where you will see the Oudong township and the beautiful surrounding countryside. Oudong was the capital of Cambodia from the early 17th century until 1866 when the capital was moved to Phnom Penh. King Monivong (1927 to 1941) and King Ang Duong (1845 to 1859) are buried there.
