A beautiful, smaller town in the extreme south-west corner of Crete. Paleochora is a great get-away from some of the larger Cretan cities like Heraklion. There isn’t too much space for growth either, because of the mountains. There is only one real road in town, which goes through a small gorge.

Paleochora is a great place to relax. you can also take a boat to the end point of the Samaria gorge, which is one of the greatest of Europe. The boat trip alone is worth the money: the coast is completely unspoiled. If you have your own boat then you are very lucky one because you can stop at any deserted beach.

Evening activities include the obligatory Volta around the village, several small disco bars, a large and very active open air night club.
