Penticton is a city in south central British Columbia, Canada between Okanagan Lake and Skaha Lake. The name Penticton is derived from a word in the Salish language, and it is roughly translated as a place to stay forever.
Its main industries are tourism, fruit and wine, making it a fun place to spend some time in the summer.
==== PENTICTION – ATTRACTION
There are dozens of vineyards within 20 minutes’ drive of downtown, two main beaches, endless biking and hiking opportunities, and plenty of watering holes.
==== PENTICTION – WHEN TO GO
All the tourist traffic can be overwhelming in July and August, but the shoulder seasons of April-June and September provide the opportunity to enjoy the region without the very hot (but also very dry) weather and mid-summer crowds.
