PHU QUOC ISLAND
This island is the largest island in Vietnam with a surface area of 56,800 hectares, equivalent to the surface of Singapore. It is possible to reach the island by plane or by boat from Rach Gia. The name of this island signifies rich island. Phu Quoc island has a high tourist potential since visitors can benefit from the sea, rivers, forests and mountains at the same location. Nuoc mam (fish sauce) sand pepper bear the name of Phu Quoc and are exported to many countries.
It is a chief town of Phu Quoc and a big fishing port located on the central west coast of the island. In this place,
there are hotels and Phu Quoc airport. The most tourist attraction in Duong Dong is Cau Castle(Dinh Cau).
This temple was built in 1937 to dedicate Cau(God of the Sea) to help the fishermen and sailors to overcome the storm and sea obstructions. Now the Castle still kept the ancient architectural styles. It is a good view from here.
It is the most beautiful beaches in Phu Quoc island. The beach is famous for its white sand , which resembles powdered chalk. Khem Beach is situated on the South of Phu Quoc island, 25 km from Duong Dong, 5 km from An Thoi port. Among the sand beaches are stone rocks. Coming here, tourists cab take sea bathing, go fishing and enjoy local specialties.
