Saziley National Park

Holiday in Saziley National Park is not just a holiday,It is a complete adventure! The 4180 ha park comprises the south- easternmost headland of the island. it is 4 km long with a sharp ridge rising to 233 m and is vegetated with dry shrub land and thicket containing baobabs. It overlaps with the 1600 ha Mlima Choungui and Sazilé Important Bird Area (IBA), identified as such by BirdLife International because it supports populations of Comoro Olive-pigeons, Comoro Blue-pigeons, Mayotte White-eyes, Mayotte Sunbirds and Red-headed Fodies. It is also home to Robert Mertens’ day geckos, island day geckos and Pasteur’s day geckos. Its beaches are a nesting site for Green, and probably Hawksbill, sea turtles.

Dapani is a village in the commune of Bandrele on Mayotte. It is located in the Saziley National Park area on the south- east of the island. The area is a notable bird habitat and is known for its “botanical trail” through the mangroves. The current mayor of Dapani is Moussa Madi.
