Wanganui

Wanganui is an urban area and district on the west coast of the North Island of New Zealand. It is part of the Manawatu-Wanganui region. Wanganui is one of the major holiday destinations in New Zealand. Wanganui is regarded as the urban area which is in the western coast of North Island. It was in the year 1989 that the district came to be regarded as a city. Wanganui is situated on the South Taranaki Bight. The Wanganui is at a distance of 200 Kilometers from the northern part of Wellington. The Wanganui in New Zealand is at a distance of 75 Kilometers from the north western part of Palmerston North. The city is administered by the Wanganui District Council and the present mayor of the Wanganui is Michael Laws.

The climatic condition of Wanganui is of the temperate climate. The inhabitants enjoy the 900 mm annual rainfall. The frosts in winter are not experienced by the inhabitants of the region.

There are a number of places of attractions in Wanganui. The major places of attractions are Wanganui Riverboat Centre, Wanganui, Bason Botanic Gardens, Wanganui and Kowhai Park, Wanganui.

Several cruises are organized at the Wanganui Riverboat Centre, Wanganui. The cruises include Lunch Cruises, Dinner Cruises and BBQ Cruises. You will have to pay an amount for the ticket. The price for the ticket is different for the adults and the children. Family concessions are also provided for the cruise. Kowhai Park, Wanganui is situated in the Anzac Parade. It is an amusement park with several rides like, brontosaurus ride octopus swing and snake seesaw.
