Zhovkva is a city in the Lviv Oblast (province) of western Ukraine. It is the administrative center of the Zhovkivskyi Raion (district).

Zolkievski commissioned the castle to the best architect of the time, Pavlo Schaslyvyi (one who planned the whole ideal city). The castle has been built to resemble a fortress between 1594-1606 by captive Turks and Tatars, along with Ukrainian kozaks.

Dominican Cloister and Church and Little Wawel are also attraction for tourist here.
